How long does the average order take to complete?

As you would imagine, it all depends on the size of your job. Many digital orders can be filled the same day your request is made. If you have a rush project, chances are we can help.

Yes. Our digital operation is capable of generating the variable information you need to personalize your advertising to increase its effectiveness.

What kinds of printing presses to you have?

We have a variety of digital and offset presses. Our offset machines include both a Heidelberg 429 (four-color) and a Heidelberg 229 (two- color) Speedmaster, which produce literally hundreds of thousands of hours of consistent high quality print. We also have a Ryobi 3302M two-color offset press as a more economical option for smaller, shorter-run printing jobs.

In terms of digital capabilities, our high speed, color digital printer is the most economical option for lower quantities (generally less than 1,000). This printer also allows us to produce variable data to meet your advertising and direct mailing needs. And finally, we also have an extremely fast and economical Halm “Super Jet” envelope printer to produce all of your envelopes to specification.

What is the difference between offset and digital printing?

Offset lithography is the most commonly used high-volume commercial printing technology today. In offset printing, the design image is first imaged onto an aluminum plate, and is then transferred (or offset) from the plate to a rubber blanket, and finally to the printing surface. The lithographic process is based on the repulsion of oil and water. The image to be printed receives its color from ink rollers, while the non-printing areas attract a film of water, keeping them ink-free.

If you have a desktop printer at home, you may already be familiar with the much simpler mechanical process involved in digital printing. Using toner, rather than plates and ink, a digital printer results in a much quicker and more affordable print solution, especially for smaller runs requiring medium to high quality.

What are the individual advantages of offset and digital printing?

Here are the benefits to offset printing:

  1. Higher image quality and resolution with no streaks or spots.
  2. More types of paper stock to choose from.
  3. Superior quality and cost-effectiveness in higher volume jobs.

The advantages of digital printing are:

  1. Faster turnaround time.
  2. Lower costs for smaller print runs.
  3. Option to do variable data printing.

What is Alpine Printing doing to go green?

Everything we can. For starters, we offer high quality recycled and post-consumer content paper to our clients like yourself, to help you go green as well. In addition, we only partner with paper suppliers whose commitment to sustainable forest management is equal to our own.

In 2004, we completely eliminated the use of chemicals in our Pre-Press Department by using process-less aluminum printing plates exclusively, 100% of which are recycled after use.

Furthermore, we use only low volatility inks and press wash solutions; and all of our waste products, including 100% of our paper and cardboard production waste, are recycled. We also sequence our jobs to save ink and energy, re-use paper stock for set-ups and utilize only biodegradable products. For more information on our on-going efforts to reduce waste, conserve energy and save our environment, please don’t hesitate ask us.
